How to Get to Citizens Bank Park:

  1. Closest Airport: Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)
    • PHL is a hub for American Airlines as well as a focus city for Frontier Airlines. You can also reach PHL on Spirit Airlines, Southwest Airlines and United.
    • PHL is 5 miles from Citizens Bank Park. If you’re renting a car, remember there is a consistent amount of traffic in and around Philadelphia at almost any time of the day. I-95 from the airport to the sports complex can be especially backed up during rush hour or for any events throughout the week.
    • PHL is about a hour ride via Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) on the Airport Line to Suburban Station with a transfer to the Broad Street Line to NRG Station (SEPTA Schedules).
      • SEPTA operates on a Zone system, where fares increase based on the number of zones traveled through. Fortunately, to get from PHL from Citizens Bank Park only requires traveling within one zone, which is a $2.50 per way fare.
  2. Driving Directions: Philadelphia is home to several major interstates, as well as being a major destination along the I-95 corridor. Philadelphia sits between Baltimore to the south and New York City to the north along the corridor, with millions of people in-between. Keep in mind the number of people in this area and avoid driving around Philadelphia during a congested time of the day.
    • From the North and South, Philadelphia is accessible via I-95 and I-476.
      • If you are coming from the north, Philadelphia is 100 miles from New York City.
      • If you are coming from the south, Philadelphia is 30 miles from Wilmington, Delaware, and 100 miles from Baltimore, Maryland.
    • From the West and East, Philadelphia is accessible via I-76 (I-76/I-276 is the Philadelphia Turnpike from the western terminal in Enon Valley, Pennsylvania to the Delaware River Bridge crossing into New Jersey).
      • If you are coming from the east, Philadelphia is 60 miles from Atlantic City, New Jersey.
      • If you are coming from the west, Philadelphia is 100 miles from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia

Philadelphia is part of the powerhouse of cities that line the eastern coast of the United States along the famous I-95 corridor. The closest city to New York City, Philadelphia is sometimes looked at as a smaller brother, but boasts some of the most important historical sites in US history as well as a vibrant social scene. When planning a trip to Philadelphia, don’t miss out on visiting the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Franklin Institute, Philadelphia Museum of Art (home to the famous steps from Rocky), National Constitution Center, Philadelphia Zoo, Adventure Aquarium, Eastern State Penitentiary, and my personal favorites, Reading Terminal Market and The Bourse. I highly recommend checking out the CityPass for Philadelphia if you plan on visiting multiple attractions in the city. This is a great opportunity to bundle admissions for several attractions while saving money and time!

Xfinity Sports Complex

Citizens Bank Park resides in the Xfinity Sports Complex. This complex houses Citizens Bank Park, Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles (NFL), and Wells Fargo Arena, home of the Philadelphia 76er’s (NBA) and the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL). Lastly, Xfinity Live! sits at the center of the complex. Xfinity Live! is a massive dining and entertainment facility that gets you as close to the game as you can without being in the stadium. Xfinity Live! has indoor and outdoor seating, TVs and of course beer if you wanted to stick around after a warm midday game and catch some live baseball elsewhere around the country.
