Flying

• Closest Airport: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
  • PHX is serviced by most commercial airlines, including American, Delta, United, and Southwest. However, PHX is a hub for American Airlines and a focus city for Southwest Airlines.
  • PHX is 3 miles from Chase Field.
  • PHX is about a 15 minute ride via Valley Metro to the 3rd St/Jefferson Station.
    • A one way ticket is $2 for an adult and $1 for a child.
    • A day-pass is $4 for an adult and $2 for a child.

Driving

• Phoenix is the lone “oasis” of the Salt River Valley in the Sonoran Desert. That being the case, there’s only a few ways in and out of the city.
  • From the North and South, Phoenix is accessible via I-17 and I-10.
    • If you are coming from the north, Phoenix is 145 miles from Flagstaff, Arizona.
    • If you are coming from the south, Phoenix is 115 miles from Tucson, Arizona.
  • From the West, Phoenix is accessible from I-8 and I-10.
    • If you are coming from the west, Phoenix is 375 miles from Los Angeles or 355 miles from San Diego, California.

Fortunately for you, there’s plenty to do in Phoenix indoors, beside catch a baseball game of course. And if you’re not afraid of getting a little sweaty, the Phoenix area is also home to some impressive hikes and views! Be sure to check out the Musical Instrument Museum, Desert Botanical Garden, Heard Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, or hike Camelback Mountain, South Mountain Park, Piestewa Park, and Papago Park (please, please, please bring more water than you need on any hike!!).
